Global Dairy Trader (vervuld)

A Global Dairy trader has a senior sales role with responsibility for IDB’s international trading activity for milk powders and butterfat primarily. This comprises sales, procurement and business development activities for IDB’s food ingredient range. The role as Global Dairy Trader also has responsibility to develop and manage a futures trading platform for the IDB’s ingredient business in international markets.

As a Global Dairy Trader you have the following Specific Responsibilities
• Increase the value and volume of IDB’s ingredient trading business so as to meet specific KPI’s.
• Build strong relationships with key international B2B clients
• Prioritise high-value customer/market opportunities. Develop a full understanding of the technical capabilities of our member suppliers and the IDB subsidiaries.
• Devise a futures trading model with the relevant risk tools for IDB’s international ingredient business. As a Global Dairy Trader it's the objective to manage market volatility and maximise market opportunity by:
o longer-term commercial contracts
o increasing IDB’s capacity to partner with global blue-chip clients
o hedging our existing seasonal supply exposures
• As a Global Dairy Trader you have to develop IDB’s ingredient product supply profile via non-Irish product sourcing.
• Prepare monthly sales analysis and regular business forecasts for presentation to the Commercial Team by utilising the Oracle Hyperion forecasting module.
• In conjunction with other Commercial Team members, identify and develop operational and workflow efficiencies to maximise customer service levels within the BPI Commercial Team.
• As a Global dairy Trader you have to assist in the project rollout of the new CRM tool, Salesforce.

o As a Global Dairy Trader you have extensive international sales experience dealing with B2B ingredient customers, traders, agents and competitors, preferably within the dairy sector.
o Strong numeracy and market intelligence skills with an ability to interpret management and financial accounts.
o Good understanding and significant experience of trading ingredient products and appreciation of futures market management platforms and techniques.
o Excellent communication, interpersonal and strong negotiation skills.
o People management experience with team building skills.
o As a Global Dairy Trader you have strong desire for significant international travel.

The Irish Dairy Industry

Ireland is natural dairying country, having a mild climate and high rainfall. The dairy industry has always been significant in Ireland and has seen enormous development over the last forty years. It is now heavily export orientated and contributes sizeably to overall Irish exports, particularly to the exports of the indigenous sector. 80% of Irish dairy products are exported and Irish producers contribute approximately 4% of the total European Union milk supply. Irish cattle are fed mainly from grass that is grown on the farm and this natural system of producing milk and beef gives Ireland many advantages when it comes to exports and the manufacture of consumer products.
